ovarian suppression

Are any of you doing ovarian suppression with tamoxifen instead of an A.I.? If so, what are your reasons for staying with tamoxifen? My MO is encouraging me to stick with tamoxifen rather than switch even though I am doing the shots. Unsure what to do...I asked the Ask the Expert at Johns Hopkins and she said an A.I. is what people do with ovarian suppression, but my MO is at Sloane Kettering so I do value her knowledge!

    most likely because tamox protects your bones whereas there could be bone loss with an AI - not sure of the scientific explanation (I'm sure someone will explain this better) but tamox works by binding to any estrogen in your system while an AI deplets you of any estrogen which can cause heart issue/bone loss/weight gain etc etc
