How long before your implanted RAD breast felt soft?

Hi everyone,

My name is Mary and while my implant (3 yrs post RAD/lumpectomy on one side) recon looks great. (I had both sides done to be bigger.) the radiated side is not as soft as the non bc side. I know this is the norm at this time (I am 4 weeks post implants) but when did yours soften up? I realize they will never be as soft as the other side but softer still is the ideal I want.

Hi, Seeing an physical therapist in Chicago who was very experienced with breast cancer, radiated tissue and reconstruction made a world of difference in getting my radiated side to loosen up. She taught me massage techniques that made a world of difference.Talk to your plastic surgeon and see if they can recommend one for you. Good Luck
