Surgery, birthday & small children. Wonder if it can wait?

• So the hospital called today and said they want to see me Monday for pre op and Thursday for surgery.

This has all happened so fast and I still don't know exactly what's wrong. I went blank once surgery was mentioned!

Ultrasound and biopsies showed old fibrodenema , 3 of them (spell check) they will be removed, papilloma is being removed too and ducts. The doctor said a biopsy showed pre cancerous cells but I still don't know where that comes into it. I wish I could listen but I'm that scared of being put to sleep I shut down when a doctor/nurse starts talking.

Im hoping when I go on Monday they might put the operation back a little, even if it's only a week. It's my sons birthday on the 14th and really want to be ok for it. When I was at the clinic I got the feeling like what I had was "no biggie" so now I'm worried that things are moving so fast.

Also if anyone has had similar surgery could you let me know how you were after? I have 4 children 12, 8, 7 & 1 and I'm worried about how I'll care for them afterwards too.
