How long is too long to wait to do reconstruction?

I had DIEP 4 months after mx because of ps schedule was booked. My very good friend had her DIEP 15 years after her mx. When she saw my results and recovery she went for it. Her's turned out fine even though she had radiation.

When I discussed the possibility of future reconstruction (I chose to go flat after my BMX), my PS told me that reconstruction can be done at any time if I change my mind in the future and choose to have it done.

There doesn't really appear to be a time limit on it.

I'll be honest with you, there are days where I wish I had never had reconstruction period, but you don't know you will feel this way when you make the decision to go ahead with it. I think some ladies just have positive experiences and are happy when it's all over and done with and then there's ladies like me that don't like how it turns out. It is what it is, one never knows what the outcome will be.

Chiefswife, what is it you are unhappy with, if I may ask?

Mind don't match at all even after the stage 2 revision. In order to feel normal I need to wear the binder all day long, otherwise my abdomen feels awful, I don't know how to describe the feeling to you though, I have discomfort/a heavy pressure feeling sitting right on top of my sternun now even though it's been 4 months since my stage 2, I have no nipples and my circles that he made for the nipples don't match in placement at all, then there are the discolored visible to my eye scars on both boobs and across my lower stomach, they are dark and crooked, they haven't faded one bit. Oh and the right breast is full of hard lumps that aren't shrinking and making any effort to be gone. My surgery is a big disappointment. I think being flat would be a better look than what I got.
