Jargon on Ultrasound report
Hello new friends.
I had an US last year when they found a mass. They wanted to biopsy but I had a car accident. They said BIRAD 4b at that time.
Last year: Palpable oval complex mass in the right breast at 9 o'clock, 1 cm from
the nipple, measuring up to 1.1 cm,
This is the new report and I cannot understand a lot of it. They said it has changed but still do not think it is cancer, though they want it out.
Now: There is a cluster of hypoechoic lobulated masses in the right breast at 9
o'clock anterior depth. This correlates as palpated. This group measures
approximately 2.1 x 0.6 x 0.3 cm, previously measuring 1.1 x 0.6 cm. This
area was previously more cystic with solid features.
So it has grown and is now two but I assume cancer would be faster growth? The dr still does not think it is cancer but he said YOU CANNOT TELL and he said it has to be biopsied but I have many other surgeries upcoming because the car accident caused many injuries to me and I have to prioritize.

Dear okrad, Welcome to the community and thanks for posting your dilemma. We are sorry that you have been through all of this and glad that you reached out here. We are not doctors here so it would be hard for us to tell you what to do or what is exactly going on but we suspect that many would advise that you follow your doctor's suggestion. Here is some information from our main site about eh birds system. Keep us posted. The Mods

Hi Okrad, sorry to hear about the car accident and the medical consequences of it.
The Dr is right. Considering it is growing (and yes, some cancers grow faster than others, some slower.). "Breast cancer" is a umbrella term that covers over 20+ different types of cancer*S* that can effect the breast), it should come out and be biopsied. It's important to know, one way or the other, exactly what you are dealing with.
The Dr is being wise not to assume that this is, or is not, cancer. He is looking for a definitive answer that only a biopsy can give.
Not sure what other surgeries you have to deal with, but a lumpectomy is not as bad as you may think. Another option would be to have a core needle biopsy done first? Talk to him

hi! Thank you for the replies. Thank you for the BIRDS Link, too! I am learning a lot. He said excisional is best. He could do a fine needle bioplsy but little cancers can hide in a fibroadenoma and he is a REALLY good Dr. I can tell you that. He is really well versed in all this. So I will do what he says and to honest I would rather have it all out. There are two. One is kinda two but there is another so it is really three. The third is at 6oclock and he says totally probably benign but if they are going in, get them all. Be done.
