Lift/Reduce to match exchange....questions/experience

Just back from latest fill (now at 750!) feeling really big and hard...and the PS started talking dates for the exchange surgery for the first time, yeah!!!. Currently looking to have one or two more fills in Sept, then two months downtime before an exchange in December. With my teaching schedule that would make it Dec 10-15 probably.

I am a L-MX, so my right will need a "lift/reduce" procedure...did folks do both the exchange and the revision surgery at the same time? I really would rather do one at a time, but was wondering what others have experienced ... so many are BMX so of course both sides are done at exchange...but for the single MX, what has been your process??? Did you get to choose?

I had both my exchange on L. side and reduction/lift on R. side done at the same time. I don't remember being given any options but I also probably didn't ask since I was happy to get them done together. It saves you from another hospital visit, another surgery with anesthesia, another recovery period, and would cost you less.

Thanks for the response. Understand the arguments of doing them together...but since you had the L-MX experience of just one side "impaired" during the recovery...I'm very concerned with having loss of both sides during a recovery of doing both sides at once. One point of solace for me is having had one "good" side for issues from finding sleeping positions to carrying my books at school.

While it was just one recovery period the way you did it, could you tell the difference of not having a "good" side?
