My mother has Grade 1 ILC in her right breast.

Hi guys,

We just got back with a visit to the surgeon to discuss my Mom's treatment options. She has grade 1 invasive lobular cancer. The fact that it's grade 1 is reassuring.

We decided that she will get a mastectomy with reconstructive surgery. Her right breast will be removed. We can expect a call next week and we can anticipate that the surgery will take place at the end of September or early October.

There they will examine her sentinel lymph node. The surgeon did a physical exam to check her lymph nodes. They aren't swollen or anything, which is a good thing.

My Mom is emotional right now. I'm praying for the best.

Anyone else have gone through this type of cancer. I'd like any advice. Thanks.
