I had a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy for a very high lifetime risk of invasive breast cancer. The biopsy report showed that they found a 1 mm focus of invasive lobular cancer. Since cancer was not expected, no nodes were sampled. My medical oncologist used the MSK nomogram to determine that the risk of the cancer having spread to the lymph nodes was 14%. The tumor board will be discussing my case this Thursday, and I'll hear the recommendations at my appointment next Tuesday. Anyone have something similar happen?
