6 month follow up for simple cysts

I recently had a routine mammo. The results came back indicating that I needed further evaluation of my right breast. I then had a diagnostic mammo and an ultrasound. Within 10 minutes the technician came back and said,"OK, you are free to go. Your doctor will probably have you come back in about 6 months for follow up. It was just simple cysts". From what I can gather (via surfing the net), simple cysts do not need 6 month follow-up, just continue with routine mammos. Just wondering if anyone else had any experience with this. Why follow up for simple cysts??
