    Hi All,

My mother is undergoing breast cancer treatment (Her2+) . Initially when her FISH test was conducted ,her score was 2+ (genomic amplification of Her2 gene) .

Even after taking 10 rounds Herciptine chemo , it didnt help to shrink the breast ,my mother still had a feeling of heaviness of lump and spots were seen on the breast .

So doctors decided to start Perjeta cycles with Herceptine and Docetaxel. But even now , we are not seeing much improvement after taking 3 cycles of Perjeta , we do see spots on the breast and doctors mentioned it seems it is growing.

Question : Why cancer is not responding to Her2 targerted drugs like perjeta ? Do we have any other options ? what kind of treatment would you suggest ?

Hi, I don't have answers for you, just wanted to let you know my treatment regime. I am stage 3 triple positive invasive lobular ca. I received 6 rounds 3 weeks apart of taxotere, perjeta, and herceptin. I then had bilateral mastecomy with no evidence of cancer in either breasts or lymph nodes. I continued with herceptin every 3 weeks for a total of 15 treatments, and am now on arimidex for 5 years. Did your mother seek a 2nd opinion for her treatment? No Dr. should EVER be offended if you seek a 2nd opinion, as no one will fight for you harder than yourself. Hugs to you both.
