Disgusting, Painful Infection

I have spent the past 36 hours battling a fever that climbed as high as 103.7 (currently 102.5), a terrible headache, and sopping up copious amounts of pus (doc wants me to keep burns moist, which is only making them more repulsive and foul). Doc has me on Amox Clav but I don't feel he's taking this seriously. Anyone else wind up with an infection?

Yes. I ended up with an infected seroma at the end of my radiation treatment. I ended up in the ER, had surgery and had to stay overnight to get IV antibiotics. My RO did not take it seriously either and had given me a oral antibiotic but since it did nothing for my fever after 3 days, off to the ER I went. Infections can be serious. Sometimes IV antibiotics are needed. Of course this happened to me on a weekend too. I would urge you to try to be seen at a walk in clinic or ER if you have been taking your antibiotic and are still having a fever. Cellulitis and other infections that can arise from RADs are nothing to mess around with.
