Infection in TE

I know we are not to post pics but I feel like I need advice so badly. Admin delete if necessary.

Bilateral Mastectomy 12/11/15, TE in both breasts. On 12/30 the discharge began seeping out of the incision. 1/1/16 was the date on the top picture. Twice I contact my PS answering service w no return call. By Monday I called and received another antibiotic. Dr. in Tuesday and I was sent for IV antibiotics. He "worked" to try to save the breast by cleaning it up and sending me to IV antibiotics for 3 weeks. March 10th TE in left breast removed. I have waited all summer for time to pass and to regain my health. I was so weak from all the antibiotics I am just feeling like myself. There is a 3" valley where the TE was removed and I have already had a second opinion that stated a TE could not go back in.

Any suggestions from the group. I have lost confidence in the PS as I feel he did not act quickly enough in removing TE. I am having 3rd opinion on 8/30. Thank you for your help.

    Susie-

Oh goodness, what an ordeal! We are so sorry for all the problems you've had with your reconstruction. We feel like you could get some valuable feedback from the community on how to proceed (definitely keep that 3rd opinion appointment!), so we're going to leave your pictures up. Many of our members had a long reconstruction road, so hopefully someone chimes in with some advice soon!

Oh dear Susie, this doesn't look good but relieved to hear it's an old photo. I agree, keep the 8/30 appt and lay it all out there...at the first sign of infection or trouble, you expect a response. I hope everthing goes as planned and without complications.

    Good luck

    Amy
