chemotherapy while pregnant
hi just dropping by to find members who underwent chemo while pregnant and if it is safe?
me and MO are now trying to weigh the risks as I am just on my 30th week but with a grade 3 and pretty aggressive type. choosing between having chemo while pregnant and let baby go full term or deliver at 32 weeks and start chemo asap.
I can say i'm fighting for two. HUGS to all

let me know what you decide...as I am thinking and praying for you and your unborn baby
Hope others, more experienced, come by and offer you someadvice.

Interesting week 30, so if you could have your baby at 35 or 36 weeks would that be OK to wait that long until treatment?
Could they monitor your tumor weekly? It seems to me even with the most aggressive tumors a month or so shouldn't matter that much.
I would be afraid to risk your baby's health.

kk, firstly, congrats on the new baby, the new joy. So sorry about your diagnosis , and the tough decisions it forces on you. I have "met" here on BCO a member named bchusband , his wife was just like you, pregnant and breast cancer. She does not do the website , but he joined as her caregiver . She had chemo while pregnant , and their son is now 18 mo old. mom and baby did great. Perhaps you could connect with him for some valuable information? I am not a medical person and can not give any advice to you you, just want to help you connect with some one who went through this as well. My best hopes and prayers to you and the baby .

There are 2 gals getting chemo at my center that are pregnant. They just had to wait until after 3 months pregnant and it's safe for baby. I would think you would be fine.
