Odd hair growth along healing surgical site

Options

Im not sure if this is the correct place for this question. I have discovered hairs growing along my BM scar. Bristles or stubble are the only way I know to describe it. At first I thought they might be stitches dissolving and coming apart, but every day there seems to be more. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned? I am 62, so post menopause.

    Oh dear!

Have you had any skin flap/s transferred to there from elsewhere on your body?

Have you been using any OTC emolient creams or lotions on your scars there? I understand some such products can have hormonal effects such as stimulating hair growth.

Are you on any medication/s that might account for it? I have read that some women in Chemo treatment get new unwanted facial hair like that. I understand Biotin use can cause it too.

Any chance you might have PCOS?

Perhaps you should see your Oncologist about it and ask about referral to a good Clinical Electrologist.

I had a Phyllodes Tumor removed in 2009, and occasionally use a tweezer to pluck out the odd dark hair, or two on the healed surgical site.

BTW, I was DX.ed with PCOS prior to the Phyllodes encounter...weird tumor that it is🤔
