passed away
so my beautiful sister in law passed away yesterday. The breast cancer wasn't responding to treatment and thenn she got pneumonia with blood clots on the lungs and fluid around the heart.
I knew the cancer would get her but the pneumonia just made her passing so quick.
I'm off work today trying to deal with all of the emotions. I have also had breast cancer twice that adds it's own set of emotions.
Just so sad. she was only 45 and a wonderful person.
Thanks for reading of those who do. I guess I just need to pick myself up and I have to go back to work tomorrow....
love to all

Edited later in the day - sorry, I read sister, instead of sister-in-law. Still heart-rending Caroline and I hope you can allow yourself time and permission to grieve. - Stephanie

Hi Caroline,
This strikes so close to heart and home for you.
Yes, so many emotions when we lose a loved one, especially a beloved sister, friend and someone who shared the same diagnosis.
I am lighting an inner candle for you and holding you in its warm, steady glow.
Please be super kind and gentle with yourself. This is a big event, not just a day off work event.
warmest healing regards, Stephanie

Caroline, I am sorry for your loss. Take some time to grieve. Gather together in your mind all the good memories of your sister-in-law and smile, cry, laugh, and share. As you know from personal experience, cancer is a cruel disease. I am sure your loved one's passing has increased your own fears of recurrence. Please don't let that fear control your life. I will pray for peace and comfort for you and your family.

Dear Caroline - I'm so sorry for your loss, for the fear it stirs up in your life, and for the grief that all your family and her friends are plunged into. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Caroline, I am so sorry to hear of your beautiful SIL's passing. Losing a family member and friend is so heart breaking and emotional . Especially at only 45 and when it brings up reminders about your own health. Does your work have a bereavement allowance so you can take off a little more time to process and grieve her? I pray for comfort and peace for you at this very difficult time.

I'm not stage IV Caroline, but wanted to say how sorry I am. May your sister in law forever rest in peace. This is what happened to my mother-in-law. She was stage IV and then pneumonia set in and she passed. Awful. I hope you are doing ok.

Caroline,
I've often taken solace in this quote when I've found myself in the midst of grieving: "There are stars whose radiance is visible on Earth though they have long been extinct. There are people whose brilliance continues to light the world though they are no longer among the living. These lights are particularly bright when the night is dark. They light the way for humankind." -Hannah Senesh, poet, playwright, and paratrooper (1921-1944)
Your relationship with your beautiful sister in law sounds to be quite meaningful for you. So many times we struggle to find meaning in loss and grief, too, and finding a way to be kind to yourself as well as to others in honor of your sister in law may be a comfort to you. Please remember that others care.

cazza, I am so very sorry for your loss. Age 45 is much too young to go. You have so many emotions you are experiencing, especially having to deal twice with breast cancer yourself, and yet, the world keeps turning. Stuff still needs to get done. And none of it seems fair.I pray that you find quiet times to grieve, and that you are able to remember all the good times you shared with your sister in law and that those memories will be a comfort to you.

How does one express sorrow better than those who have written before me. How does one adjust.. It is the long long road and I send you my heartfelt sorrow. My faith says we will see them again.. I know all do not agree. I lost my father 14 years ago and I truly have felt him near me at times. Thus I wish all to have these confronting times. Still, nothing is the balm.. We still have to endure loss of our loved ones. Oh I send you my heart felt sympathies. I wish I could send more. Blessings from Carolyn in Tennessee
