Hi all. Been a member here for some years, mostly just reading. Have been going for yearly mammograms since I was 34 (mom and her sister had bc). Early on there were cysts, calcs, etc. Had some years were there were 6 month follow ups. Some where it was yearly. Last two years - both Bi-rad 1, negative with one year saying I had dense breasts, last year saying it was average. This year, Bi-rad 2, dense breasts. I asked why the birad2 and was told it was due to having dense breasts (by GP). That they don't classify the density, they just say they are dense. I found this odd as that wasn't the case three years back when i was told i was birads 1 and dense. Anyway, GP recommended whole breast ultrasound due to dense breasts. i'm going to go ahead and get it. Just makes me feel a little bit uncomfortable when GP says something that conflicts with past results, ob/gyn doesn't even bother following up at all and well, it feels like I have to read between lines to figure out what is going on. I will say though, i am grateful that nothing major has popped up but I do sometimes worry they are missing something since nobody seems to be on the same page.
