Well dang, I have a small seroma.

In all honesty, I'm slightly relieved it's a seroma as, for the past few days, I thought it was the beginning of a dog ear.

Today, while getting dressed, I decided to poke at it a bit to see if it felt like fatty tissue and it felt more like an 80s waterbed. It's not very big, maybe the size of a quarter, and it doesn't feel like it's very 'deep' in terms of volume either. It's on the right incision, which goes about halfway under my arm as that particular breast had been larger and had more tissue in that direction (the left incision doesn't even go under my arm) and I'd been noticing that the swelling didn't seem to be going down much on that side. The good news is that the actual surgical induced swelling is going down just fine, and the incision isn't leaking or open near the seroma, which is just above the incision.

My best guess is it formed because of the sort of useless compression tube top I'd been wearing and I'm pretty confident that with the new, much tighter compression vest I have now, that it'll just reabsorb in a week or two.

Either way, I fired of a message to my plastic surgeon's office just to let her know I'd developed a small one, but wasn't worried as it's not large, red, painful, itchy, leaking, or irritating and assumed it'd reabsorb and was just letting her know in case she wanted to do something other than compression with it (which I doubt, given how tiny it is).

I WILL be watching it carefully though to make sure it doesn't get any larger though.
