Reaching out to Toronto sisters
I find that the hardest part of this journey is keeping mental health in balance. Hoping to find Toronto sisters who are willing to create an online community in this platform because we are certainly connected by the same healthcare system and standard of care.
Please chime in

Jlb, I'm sorry no one answered this post. They may not have seen it. I know there are other Toronto area members here as I've been talking to them on other threads in the month I've been a member. I hope you have found them through other sections. I'm just north of TO and taking things one day at a time. Hope you are doing well.

I left the forum for a bit and surprised to see responses to my outreach. Thank you ladies for taking the time. Like many of us, I feel lonely and anxious now that treatment is done (still on herceptin infusion). I wanted to connect for selfish reasons. How are you all coping after treatment
-
Hey Jlb. Glad you are getting along. I have a question for you...are there many side effects once you are just on herceptin? Are you getting it 3 weeks apart? Can your hair grow back while on herceptin?
Looking down the road, since I'll be doing herceptin for about a year.
I've only had one chemo so far, but so far so good! I really like my team at the hospital so that helps.

i am also in Toronto too.

Brampton area here. I'm 14 months complete all active tx( last rads) 23 dec 2015, 14 months complete (Jan 2016) on tamoxifen. Next check up 6 April at CVH in Mississauga.
All is well. Sometimes reading the boards makes me sad. Sometimes it makes me happy. I think we're all still adjusting to this new normal. -
Hi Jlb: I know the feeling - about feeling lonely so it is really good to connect with others close to home. With PILC I still see my MO and RO every few months as I'm still receiving treatment and regular scans. I have received amazing care at Princess Margaret so have nothing to complain about.
Hope things are going well for you.
Hugs Anne

i left the forum and online conversations all together since I can't help myself but research and research some more. I am now back at work trying to fit in my new normal. Feeling good and would like to be active again here. Today, I'll see a new oncologist. Did anyone of you change onco because you can't connect well with the first one
