Lump below clavicle
So I finished chemo end of October and radiation Christmas eve. About a week ago I found a new lump about an inch below my left clavicle, opposite my BC. It seems to be right on top of a rib. It's hard and doesn't really move. I messaged my oncologist about it. Luckily I see him this week for a checkup anyway.
I am freaking out about it a bit. I know I shouldn't be but it's hard not to when you had so many positive nodes plus it's so soon after treatment...I'm a little discouraged. I'm trying to ready myself for worse case scenario.
Sorry just needed to vent a little.

So sorry you have this worry. In your pocket.

vent away! Perhaps call your MO. Maybe you could get some imaging and then discuss the results at your appointment. Hoping it is benign

Thanks for the replies. I see my mo tomorrow morning, anxious to see what he says. I just want to know what this thing is. The not knowing sucks!!

So I had a total meltdown at my appointment. My mo basically told me it was a rib and that I probably never noticed it before...WTF! I just about lost it. He made me feel like a child and pretty much scolded me for having anxiety about recurrences and mets. He did send me for an x-ray and then explained to me that the pics were normal and even showed them to me.
Thankfully, I also had an appointment with my RO right after. After a thorough exam he basically said he thought it was my rib also but in a much nicer way and said he would order a CT scan if I wanted it. I declined for now but I did message my BS to get her opinion.

Thank goodness for the kind RO! No medical person should ever scold you for make you feel bad. I am glad it is a rib. Try to relax, and trust the RO. Hoping you can let the MO know how that made you feel. My best wishes to you.

So sorry, you've done so much treatment. Have it looked at on ultrasound if that doesn't bring resolution a biopsy will.
I hope it is nothing. Good thoughts.

My BS ordered an ultrasound right away. There were two radiologists in the room while it was being performed. Both confirmed that it is a rib...thank the Lord. My BS still wants to examine me next week but I am feeling much better about the lump. Still wish my MO wasn't so harsh with me but I'm just glad my RO and BS are wonderful. Thanks for all the feedback and well wishes
Here's hoping to lots more benign lumps for all my sisters... and brothers dealing with the sh*tty disease.

good news! And thanks for the well wishes!

Lulu, I am glad your RO and BS took you seriously. Mostly, I am glad it is not cancer. Your MO will be the one who follow you for years. Let your MO know how he made you feel. If he still has attitude, find a new one. My former MO blew off a lump, telling me I was not at risk for recurrence, and to only call him if a lump went from a grape to a golf ball to call him. I walked out and never returned. And I had a recurrence 6 months later. For what it's worth, I have a prominent rib, both new MO and BS have spent a lot of time pushing on it, and I have to reassure them it is just my normal rib, which is much more prominent after all the surgeries
