Combined hormone therapy with Zometa

Hi, I have some questions about Zometa and tried searching the topic and did not come up with much about Zometa specifically. If there is an existing thread I should be posting this to, please direct me.

I was on Tamoxifen for 3 months and then my MO quite. My new MO suggested a combined hormone therapy of Aromasin (Exemestane) daily and Zolodex injections monthly, which I started in February of this year. He said I would also need an IV of Zometa every 6 months, which I started last week. My Dr said the side effects of Zometa include joint pain and jaw pain. I woke this morning with a very sore neck (at the nap), and pain in the joints of one hand and arm. It seems like I'm experiencing the pain in areas that are already compromised. I have a history of headaches starting at the nap of my neck and I have some arthritis/tendonitis.  I plan to call and talk to a nurse tomorrow, but I believe the experience of those who live it can offer a different perspective.

Is the joint pain of Zometa cumulative, or could it, perhaps, improve with time? Is the joint pain throughout the whole body, or specific to particular limbs?

My MO mentioned that there are drugs to help with the side effects, but the last thing I want is another drug. I'm currently going through reconstruction, and I just want to be strong and healthy! Has anyone had success with natural remedies for the joint pain?

Thanks for your input!!
