    Hi-

    My mom started having terribly watery eyes on ibrance, and now it is continuing on Taxotere. It might seems like a minor issue to an outsider (compared to some of the other awful side effects), but it is driving her crazy. Water is literally pouring from her eyes all day. Any advice? Her doctor recommends an eyewash. I'm hoping someone has information that could be helpful to her. Thanks so much.

    Daughter, I have the same problem. I just completed 6 infusions of Taxotere. Hopefully someone will jump in here with the answer. It is annoying & messy.

    All the eye products I have looked at are for dry eyes or people wearing contacts

    Taxotere can cause scarring of tear ducts, causing them to close up and prevent tear drainage. I had a severe case and took dexamethasone (steroid) drops. When that didn't work, I had to have my ducts reopened with an ice pick type device by an opthalmologist with experience with chemo. My case was extreme and few need to resort to that. I took dose dense Taxotere which is more potent and not indicated for Taxotere due to toxicity profile. My oncologist and I probably went too aggressive on that. Also, I waited too long before bringing up the tearing issue with oncologist. Would recommend getting treatment early before scarring becomes worse, where something like drops will solve the problem.

    Good luck. Watery eyes can be uncomfortable, itchy and awkward when it looks like one is crying all day long.
