I had BMX on the 29th and emergency surgery on July 2 to repair a bleed on my left side.

How many days was your drain output red? One side is much clearer... but the second surgery side is red.

Just curious of your experiences. my surgeon doesn't seem concerned.

Thanks

If you had a second surgery on the 2nd that's only been 6 days.  I had some major pain with my drains on day 6 and had them removed.  The output on one was almost gone, but the other one was still pretty red colored.  I thankfully didn't have any problems with the early removal.  BTW, I also had to have a second emergency surgery for the same thing!  Only 12 hours after my original surgery Scared

I'm glad to be home... they kept me for a couple days after the second surgery.

    How are you feeling?

The drain output stays red for a while. It will turn a pretty orangish color too. I don't think there a rhyme or reason to it. When it's time to come out they will. I had mine for about 3+ weeks after my bmx. I just got my expanders out and implants on Wednesday July 7! My drains are reddish orange. It just keeps you guessing!! Good luck and rest rest rest!! Take cat and heal!!

I'm doing really well, thanks!  Of course I'm still tender, but overall I'm ok Smile I have to say I'm in awe of those of you that have a MX.  I could not image having both done at the same time.  You are a strong bunch!    I hope your recovery continues smoothly.

I was going to do reconstruction later this year but after the hell of my 2am emergency second surgery last weekend I think I'm done with surgery for quite awhile! I just want to be healed and healthy!

That's exactly how I'm feeling about reconstruction!  I'm looking forward to not hurting and being able to sleep on my side again, lol
