Diagnosed June 7/Started Chemo June 27

Feeling very lost and wishing I had someone to talk to who has had breast cancer. I have an amazing support system but would love to chat with others who have been down this road or currently going down it.

I was diagnosed 6.7.16 with IDC after yearly routine mammogram. Stage IIB, Her2 positive, estrogen positive, starting with 6 cycles of chemo (every 3 weeks), 1 year cycles of Herceptin, followed by surgery after chemo and radiation.

Would love to be able to ask questions as I go to anyone who is willing to travel this journey with me.

Hi Jenn!

I'm sorry that you feel so lost. If you want to "talk" to others going through chemo, there is a board devoted to women who started chemo in June as well as one for patients who started in July. If you want to "talk" to women who are triple positive (ER+/PER+/HER2+), you might want to check out the Triple Positive Board.

Like you, I had neoadjuvant chemo (chemo before surgery). It was hard to wait so long for surgery, but it did give me time to think about my surgical options. When chemo wiped out the cancer in my breast and compromised node, I decided on lumpectomy rather than mastectomy.

Hope your side effects from chemo aren't too bad! ((Hugs))
