Hey all;

My onc wants to discuss this trial with me on Tuesday and I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with it.

    I looked into joining but you have to have failed on the first line treatment for you type of cancer. I have not progressed on the first line treatment protocol (Yay!) but I have my eye on this one if I do. Please let me know what you learn and how it goes. This trial offers very interesting alternatives.

    I am bumping this tread about the MATCH trial. This is an option for anyone who has progressed on their first or second line of treatment. They test your tumor for certain gene mutations, if they can, they match you with treatments that have been effective with those gene mutations. This allows you to look beyond the breast cancer tool kit for options.It's a widely available trial in the US. Not in Canada, but I've similar trials open in Canada.

    Precision medicine is not standard of care for breast cancer right now. I've seen some very late stage, complicated cases get precision medicine covered by insurance, but generally it is a fight for breast cancer patients. This may be a way to get access to state of the art genetic testing of your tumor and options you don't have at the moment.
