Some questions about triple negative
Hello everyone.
I didn't know where to post but I wanted to ask some questions.
My mom got diagnosed with BC but with different regimens of chemotherapy, she didn't respond to the treatments. She stayed good after a sugery for a while, but then the disease got back and things unfortunately didn't go well.
Why this happens? We also saw other doctors but nothing worked with her. Sometimes I feel so frustrated about it. and I wonder if I did the possible for her. I know now things can't be changed. But the questions still wander in my mind

Alyna - bless your heart. It's so hard to accept and deal with when it's your mother.
Idk why the chemo didn't take. Every woman reacts differently to treatment.
What surgery did she have? What kind of BC?
There is nothing you could have done. Talk to her doctors.
Keep the faith and keep us posted.

She had triple negative breast cancer. She did fec and docetaxel before the surgery, and everythings seemed fine. but when she finished the chemo, the lump that first was shrinking, started to grow again.
after they had to remove the breast, mastectomy and remove all her lymphnodes;
when doctors did biopsy on the lump, they saw that there were a lot of areas of necrosis, which, doctors said, mean that the cancer is very aggressive.
then we had another opinion , and also the other doctor said the disease is very aggressive and he suggested to do more chemo, carboplatin and paclitaxel.
mom stayed good for 4 months but then, when chemo stopped and we were getting ready for radiation, the disease was back again, in the same place where she got surgery.
so mom did radiation plus chemo
but then things got worse and worse
we saw another doctor, try to handle things better...mom wasn't able to defeat cancer. she passed 5 months ago

So sorry Alyna. How sad losing your mother especially when she did everything to fight this disease. Triple negative is avery aggressive BC. An older friend in her 80s was just DX with it. She had a lumpectomy. Haven't heard yet what her treatment plan will be but from what I understand hormone therapy won't work - only chemo and/or radiation. She has suffered so much already with glaucoma and severe pain from several falls.
You did everything you could. Unfortunately the outcome is out of our control and doctors can only do so much.
Remember the love and good times with your mother. My mom has passed away too and the memories are what keeps me going.
