I have been taking Arimidex for 2 months along with lupron shots every four months due to my ER + status. My normal blood pressure range has always been 120/75 or so. Recently its been creeping up to a now hypertensive level of 160/95. Has anyone else seen this as a SE with the med?

I had the same thing happen. My PCP put me on a diuretic and it went right back to normal within 2 months.

Yes, I had a sudden and significant increase in my blood pressure after being on Arimidex for a couple of months.

I've been hypertensive for 20 years and had my blood pressure reasonably well controlled until the AI. Once on it I had to add another medication and double the dose on another 2 to bring it down to an acceptable level.

I'm within spitting distance of finishing my 5 year sentence and I'm really hoping that I will be able to reduce my meds for hypertension once I'm finished with the Arimidex.

For what it's worth my MO denied that my increase in blood pressure had anything to do with the Arimidex, in spite of the fact that it's listed as a common side effect on Astra Zeneca's own website.
