Referral to gynecological oncologist. Help?

hi. I am one month past lumpectomy and snb. I still havent been staged. Pet scan revealed ovarian mass, mri ordered. MO said inside of cyst concerning . Can anyone comment on idc metastasis to ovary? I known breast cancer along with ovarian cancer is really rare. Like a 2% chance

He said it still could be a cyst. Its starting to hurt and ache on that side. I havent read much about this on these boards. I am 2 months since diagnosed and 59 years old tumour is grade 3 er+pr-her+ idc 2.5 centimeters. No history of cysts. Thank you

It sounds like they should biopsy it. A lot of time has passed. It must be so frustrating waiting, hoping you get answers soon. Hope the ovary is benign. Do they have a treatment plan for you yet

Hi. Im supposed to be starting chemo first but this needs to be adressed first. MO said he said he thinks they have to go in and take the ovary out and then they can biopsy it. I still dont have an appt yet hopefully. I can see gynecological oncologist next week. Im praying for the best but bracing for the worst. He made a comment "that my breast cancer might have saved my life" i thought he said that he didn't think it was ovarian cancer so im not sure what to think. Yikes. Thanks for responding, Im praying for benign!
