Hi Everyone,

I am new here and grateful to have found this site.

I am 48 years old, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2013. I had a total thyroidectomy & one dose of radiation. In 2015 I was diagnosed with a genetic heart disease & I am currently three months post open heart surgery.

I recently had a screening mammogram which showed a suspicious area of density in my right breast. I had a diagnostic mammogram last week & am now being scheduled for an ultrasound.

I have done a lot of research & reading & know that it's more than likely nothing.

My question is specific high C Reactive Protein (indicator of inflammation/infection in the body) & Creatine Kinase (CK) blood test results.

I'm wondering if anyone else who has been diagnosed with BC also had elevated results for these tests.

Thank you,

Carrie

    Hi,

We too hope that it is nothing! Why did your doctor have these specific tests done? Were they concerned about something?

    Thinking of you!

I have been experiencing some numbness and tingling in my arms & legs. He was checking for inflammation or muscle tissue damage.

I had a fu app't w/my GP this morning & although my levels are elevated, he told me that there were not high enough to be concerned about. That's good news!

I asked him if there is a correlation between the C Reactive Protein & breast cancer & he said no
