Side effects vs. quality of life? I've had a hysterectomy, does anybody know benefits of Tamoxifen if ovaries already removed? Had lumpectomy, radiation already.

It will still have benefits, because the ovaries are not the only source of estrogen in the body, but probably not the same benefits as one of the aromatase inhibitors which are more usually prescribed to post-menopausal women.

As to your question, unless you are at unusual risk for the more serious side effects, most of the more common ones will disappear once you take the drug. Many people have no side effects, others, including myself have some but not severe enough to want to discontinue.

You can always give it a trial run and see ...
