Hello Ladies,

I am scheduled to have fat grating/lipofilling done Aug 5th.

What are some of the side effects and down time to this procedure?

I'm hoping not to be down for too long, my down time after the exchange surgery was only a week or so..

thank you!

    Hi Chicagogirl!

We're sure you'll get lots of answers here soon. In the meantime, you may be interested in checking out the main Breastcancer.org site's page on Fat Grafting, which discusses the benefits and disadvantages of fat grafting.

    We hope this helps!

How much fat are you having grafted at one time? I just had my second proceedure, and it takes less than an hour. No real pain or side effects, once the anesthesia wears off. Only bummer is, you have to wear spanx if your donor site is your stomache, and you can't work out for a weeks so the fat has the best chance to take. You can still do regular activities. Hope this helps! Good luck!

    Hi Littleblueflowers,

She mentioned taking fat from my back and a little from my stomach. I kind of slender so don't have much fat to be transferred. She also mentioned I would have to were spanx and a compression bra for a few weeks afterwards. As long as I'm able to do regular activities I'll be okay.

    Thank you!
