Arimidex and hair

I have been on Arimidex for all most 2 months. So far no side effects. I am worried about my hair, I don't have much to begin with. Has anyone gotten a perm or had their hair colored while on Amiridex? I don't want to rush the thinning, I don't know if either of these will make my hair thin prematurely.

I have been taking Arimidex/Anastrazole for 1 year and 8 months and I have been coloring my hair the entire time.  I have no problems from dying my hair.  My hair has not thinned from taking Arimidex.  In fact, it actually appears thicker because my hair has become slightly curlier from the Anastrazole. Good luck.

Thank you! I feel so much better knowing I can color my hair. I would like to get a perm but not sure if I should. That would be great if the arimidex made my hair better rather than worse, I don't have good hair to begin with...thin and straight!

    Sophiee,

I had hair thinning issues starting about a year before Arimidex. I started seeing a dermatologist at that time; he treats many patients for hair loss/thinning issues. I think I'm holding my own with the treatments. At the very first appointment I asked him about hair color, mousse, blow drying, etc. He said that was all fine. The only thing he tells his patients NOT to do hair wise, is to pull it into a tight ponytail or braid.

My hair was fine throughout my 5 years on Armidex, and was colored every 5 weeks without fail!

Sophie- I know perms are really hard on thin hair, especially since you color it. When I want a wave, I use Beach Babe, blow dry hair, then use light setting oncurling iron. I also spray my hair with a heat protectant before drying.
