I did not have chemo due to early stage and low oncotype. Been on tamoxifen for 4 months now and still getting my period like clockwork...it's making me worried actually, since I keep hearing about period changes as a side effect. Anyone still getting their regular cycle?

Don't worry I'm similar to you .. mine disappeared but my onco says its that my ovaries stopped working. He explained to me that tamoxifen doesn't shut down your ovaries from producing estrogen only blocks the estrogen that is produced. I expected to get my period but only saw it once. Still get cramps every month lol .

Mine came back couple weeks ago (last was after first round chemo). MO thought it would come back much sooner, said we will talk about Lupron next time we meet.

I've been on tamoxifen for about five weeks. My period was about two weeks late.

Kathy-- I was diagnosed with stage 1 BC on 4/07. I had a lumpectomy and 33 radiation treatments tamoxifen. I was 47yrs old at the time and still had my period. It's been 9 years since I first took the tamoxifen. Tamoxifen did not affect my cycles at all. Two years ago I started getting irregular periods. My last period was last year when I was 55yrs old. Tamoxifen was not the cause for getting menopause age was the factor. Everyone is different and medication has different side effects. You might react differently. I wish you well. If you have any question feel free to ask....
