Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma ,,,What?

Diagnosed with IDC on June 3rd, 2016 (My Birthday). I had a 2 cm lump in my breast. The next day, it was 4 cm and two days later it is 9 cm. I feel as if I have an alien in my chest that will burst out during dinner and skitter across the dining room table!

I am 52 years old and I have survived cancer three times,, this will be my fourth round. I was born with a tumor on my neck, I had skin cancer (moles) and uterine cancer at the age of 25. Now this,, wtf? God has a target on my back and his aim is getting better every day.

I am supposed to have a double mastectomy on July 13th. I spoke with a plastic surgeon and she said my skin is too thin to do the reconstruction at the same time as removal, but can do it later. I don't understand how my skin will be thicker later? But even without the reconstruction, I can deal, I'm alone, not in a relationship, don't want one. Lord knows I'm not going to have any more children,, so what do I need boobs for? On July 11th, I am hosting a "Farewell to Boobs" party.

They wanted me to do chemotherapy before my operation, but that would have delayed my surgery for 8 weeks, so I said no,, take it out and then I will do chemo.

So that is a little insight into who I am. Nice to be here, hoping to be here for awhile

So sorry that you have to go through this for a fourth time! Life certainly doesn't feel fair sometimes. This site will provide you with tons of support and a wealth of information about what to expect along the way. Best of luck!! I'll keep you in my thoughts!
