On Ibrance/Letrozole seem like my hair is falling out

Anyone else have this problem? If so is there anything you can take to counter act it?
I have not had that much but a little bit she day seems to be coming out.

I'm having the same problem and just on letrozole (no Ibrance yet). Supposedly taking biotin 5000 mcg a day and fish oil helps, but I do both of those things, and it hasn't seemed to help me. I know some people use shampoo with biotin, too. My MO said I could use Rogaine, but I don't really have a specific spot to put it on. The loss is pretty equal all over the head. I'm sorry you're going through the hair loss as well. I have heard that sometimes it slows down after awhile. We can only hope! ;-)

I am on Ibrance and letrozole. I started noticing hair loss around the 7th cycle. I am on the 10th cycle and it has continued. I still have hair but It is much thinner. I am hoping it stops

I have been on Ibrance/faslodex for 20 days and I am losing hair every day. Not enough to notice but my hair is thick and if it keeps up it will be noticable. It's about the size of silver dollar that pull from the drain every morning. I won't take anything because my toenails are too thick and I don't want them to get any harder lol.

Hi Caalll,
I am on cycle 17 or 18 ( can't remember which one) of Ibrance/ Anastrozole. I had a lot of hair loss around cycles 4,5,6 and 7. It was really starting to freak me out. It slowed down and then eventually stopped altogether. Now my hair is super thick like it always was.
I find a lot of the side effects of Ibrance lessen the more cycle you are on. I am in a clinical trial.

Thanks for all the help. I am just now going on cycle 3 so maybe it will
get better. I have very thin hair to.
-
One of my reasons for not doing Ibrance, it is a known side affect. Hurrah for those of you with thick hair, I wish.

Glad you all posted about this. I'm just finishing cycle 4 and noticed in the last couple of days that I'm losing hair. I lost about 1/3 of it 6 months in to Faslodex, after which it stabilized.
Not really anxious to lose more (in fact I freaked a bit yesterday) but it's happening. Hopefully it will stabilize again?
I can tell how much is gone by looking at my pubic hair :-)

I was on Faslodex for 5 years and it never bothered my hair. Now on this 3 month and it is slowly
coming out.

I'm glad you mentioned that, Pajim. My leg hair is also very sparse these days (and I'm not complaining about that one!). I just wonder how much of this has to do with the letrozole because I'm not even on Ibrance and am experiencing the same thing as you Ibrance ladies are on letrozole alone. I shudder to think how much the Ibrance adds to it. The hair on my head is so dry it's unreal, even with regular deep conditioning.

I've only been on Ibrance for 2 plus months, but the "side effects" leaflet with it, PLUS the leaflets for 5 of the 6 other chemos I've been on all say "hair loss"....so I'm sure some don't loose hair, others do(may not get other possible side effects). Getting ready to start my 6th straight year of chemo since I started with Stage IV and all but one year I was hair-less, no eyebrows or lashes....it no longer bothers me to be "hairless", but I don't think you ever get used to it because it is a constant reminder of the cancer even when you feel well!....I've been tempted to take a picture of an Ibrance caplet and put it on FaceBook when I realized it costs right around $500 for each one!
I hope you do well. annewithane

I've been on Letrozole and Ibrance since April. I haven't noticed any more hair loss than normal but I had lost some before my diagnosis, due to high calcium levels (which can indicate advanced cancer.) I have been using Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment. I started this around January or so. It has helped stop the significant loss and I have even seen some new growth. They have products for whatever you need. I am on #4, for visible hair loss and color treated hair. I do use Rogaine at night. I've been using that for years.
My fear is when I have to start chemo (which is inevitable, down the road, according to my oncologist and that will be for the rest of my life) I'll lose my hair forever. This isn't my first rodeo. when I had chemo, 11 years ago, I lost my hair. I was told it would happen but nothing could prepare me for the handsful of hair I lost every day. I just am going to have to suck it up and buy another wig…..

what treaare you doing then?

Does Rogaine work for Ibrance patients? Also has anyone else heard of JAK inhibitors (Janus Kinase) for hair loss? Does biotin or fish oil help
I’m in my 2nd month of Ibrance and have noticed more hair thinning.
