More surgery 12 months post BMX

I have just spent another 8 days in hospital for the 4th time this year for an infection in my left side mastectomy site, the non cancerous one.

These started 6 months` after the initial surgery and has had everyone stumped. This time I had a high temp and pain and a spread of the redness which I had not had before. They tried 3 different AB's before settling on the one I am on now. It was decided that I would return to surgery to have the area checked and cleaned. My short surgery ended up being 2 1/2 hours dur to the amount of scare tissue and finding a sinus which is a tunnel to another area away from initial site which was also cleaned out. Surgeon thinks this might be why I have been having problems, lets hope so, he thought it might have been from the origional drain but they were nowhere near there..

I am now home with another drain and what looks I have had another mastectomy so instead of a bilateral mastectomy I have had a trilateral mastectomy.

Just when I was getting my life back and getting fitter I am back to square one, oh joys.
