I called the breast surgeon's office to see what I should bring to the consult on Monday and they told me to bring a friend. I said I thought this was just a consult and they said that things will move pretty fast and that they will probably schedule a biopsy for Wednesday. They told me they have my radiology reports and my doctors reports and I will need to have a second set of ears to hear everything the doctor is going to go over. Is that normal? I know I have a BIRAD 4, but today's call scared me a little. I haven't had the biopsy yet. They are scheduling for Wednesday, but the radiologist sent me straight to the breast surgeon. Trying not to read too much into this, but the BS's nurse freaked me out a little

You have a good team to suggest this. The anxiety and stress of testing, surgery, and results will make you forget questions you want to ask, and then forget the answers the doctor gives you. Get a notebook and write down all of your questions, then you can make sure you don't forget them. As you get answers you, or whomever you bring with you can write them down for later review.

I'm having an excisional biopsy Wednesday as a follow up to a core needle biopsy a few weeks ago. I have a notebook full of my questions, research, phone calls, bills, etc. that I've been taking with me everywhere. It's helped me keep organized and have something to refer back to.

Don't be stressed by the recommendation - it's common and in your best interest.

    Hoping you get good results

    Tracy
