Core biopsy

Can a doctor tell from doing a core biopsy what the results will be by looking at th samples? I know my Dr is obviously not a pathologist but she said she was concerned after the biopsy. She said it was definitely something because she didn't pull out fatty tissue. She also said my margins weren't as smooth as she would like and told me its 50:50 on if I have cancer. She showed me the samples but I don't know what I am looking at. She had a hard time getting to the mass because I have such dense tissue. She had to stab me quite a bit.

I would imagine with as long as she has been doing this she should see differences in cancerous samples and regular samples right?
