Letrozole 5 years and then Tamoxifen

Hi,

I have seen my breast surgeon today and we spoke a little about the hormonal tx Letrozole, which she advises me I will definitely have to come off next year as that will be my 5 years done. I was rather surprised she then told me that I would likely be given Tamoxifen for a further 5 years. I have not heard of this regime and I am wondering if anyone else has done this and if so what were the reasons given?

I have some osteoporosis but not worryingly so, she said When she looked at my recent Dexa scan results.

I am in the UK
