I have fibrocycistic breast issues so a new lump was not a major concern. I still scheduled a mammo to check it out. After several scans of both breasts and ultrasounds, the radiologist came in and scanned my left breast herself. She then told me to schedule an appointment with my doctor for the next day and she was recommending a breast surgeon for a biopsy. I asked what that meant and she said I have a lot going on with microcalcs and cysts. She said it's a BIRADS 4. I'm a bit worried.

BIRADS 4 means only that they can’t tell what you have without a biopsy. 80% of biopsies turn out benign. Any reason why the radiologist is recommending a surgeon do it?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I keep thinking that most biopsies are benign. But, thanks for reminding me. No idea why they are having the surgeon do it, but they are sending me to a breast cancer clinic. I don't know if I am reading too much into that. They also scheduled me to do the genetic testing already. I had blood drawn yesterday
