Hi All, I'm a mum (47) to two fairly young kids (9 and 6) and just had a mammogram and ultrasound. Two years ago I had a biopsy on my right breast because of microcalcifications. I have very dense and very fibrocystic breasts. I noticed a month ago my breast shape had changed and I also felt significant thickening of my dense tissue on my right side. Within that thickening, I could feel a hard lump or nodule. I heard back from my doctor's office and there is an 'area of concern' (exactly same spot as the biopsied section 2 years ago)...it has ill defined borders (I know what that means) and is about 3 cm by I can't remember what else. They also did an ultrasound of my right axilla and found abnormal lymph nodes. Four years ago I actually had my right axilla imaged as I felt the enlarged node. At that time, they saw nothing. But now, in light of the lump and this reporting, I'm terrified out of my mind. I'm terrified like I never have been before. Terrified for myself and for the fact that I have my two beautiful children and husband. I go in soon for the biopsy and guess I could use some inspiration and people to lean on. I feel like I stepped out of my old life today and am floundering. My eyes are puffed out with so much crying.
