Worrying about new symptoms
Hi, hoping to get support and feedback on some new symptoms which the logical part of my brain says are likely all triggered by anxiety as I've been so worried. I do have my regular three month follow up with my MO on July 7th and just saw my RO a week ago with no concerns.
In mid April I started having symptoms of seasonal allergies which I'd never had before but the environmental conditions where I live were affecting many people. The symptoms including sneezing, watery eyes, dry throat, coughing, sinus, some mild but worrisome chest pressure and throat mucous. I convinced myself not to worry and it seems most of the symptoms finally disappeared after almost two months. But I have a very mild cough (only cough a couple of times a day if that) and still some pressure in my chest that is minor and comes and goes. It doesn't feel like breathless. The cough is vastly improved and pretty much gone.
Then in mid May I started having night sweats (not drenching but damp) almost nightly. They sort of disappeared when I took a blanket off the bed but now am getting them again. Waking up sweaty most nights. The cooler I keep the room, the less sweaty I am but this is something I've never experienced before. No fever. And then just a couple of days ago I started having tingling in my feet, and legs. I finished chemo 21 months ago and this is a recent complaint. No pain, just worrisome.
My head is in a bad place and I am having trouble not majorly stressing out about these symptoms. I feel fine, energy level is normal, no fatigue, no weight loss or any feelings of being unwell. Please tell me this is all in my head. My fears are impacting the quality of my life right now which I hate. Thanks for being there to support each other. Hope to continue to return the favor.

It's scary...... I know the fear never really goes away and I am 12 years out.
I had so many weird pains the first three years after treatment that I was sure it was cancer coming back. Of course it wasn't.
I know many people say give it two weeks.....honestly if I had waited more like four weeks I would have seen that the symptoms were gone. Instead my oncologist gave me scans....which I wish I had not done because they really aren't that good for you long term.
Hang in there..... it takes awhile for fears to settle to a bit less.....it will all get easier with time on your side.

if you have a smart phone, keep a log of symptoms, and always write when it starts. It seems anytime I go to record a new symptom, I see an old one on my list which has long since disappeared.
If you have changed medications it can cause night sweats, and spring weather can too. Hoping your symptoms disappear soon. Do keep us posted

Don't forget about the viruses that are going around. My DH (no cancer) has been coughing more than usual. I suspect post nasal drip from allergies.
Are you on anti-hormonals? Those will give you night sweats. You also did not say your age....menopause?
Two neighbors of mine have had the WORST drenching night sweats over a few nights from a virus going around here (they are 72 and 80, so definitely post menopause).
I have had night sweats on and off and on and off....and I know some women just have hot flash/sweats longer than the 10 years after initial menopause. Anxiety can certainly add to that. Chemo will put you in "chemopause" and can trigger similar symptoms.
I agree---I used to say 2 weeks but now am saying 2 months. If symptoms ebb and flow or lessen, I am less likely to think they are sinister.

Thank you for the kind and encouraging replies. Still struggling up and down, some days I can mostly ignore the symptoms and other days I become fixated. Ativan seems to help the tingling in my extremities so am taking that as a good sign that it may just be triggered by anxiety. Concerns about the lungs now almost nil, no cough or congestion. Did start having new headaches daily a few days ago that are mild, similar to migraine headaches I got routinely years ago. The headaches don't seem to be similar to brain tumor headaches so am TRYING not to go there. I am post menopausal so unsure why sweating at night is starting. Still happens regularly but seems nights keep the room cool and use just a sheet lessens the possibility.
Appreciate being talked off the ledge. Just want to relax, enjoy life and not let this define my life. This site is amazingly helpful. I've been taken more Ativan than I ever have needed to, wondering if that could cause the tingling?
