Hi Kris7. I had a similar experience but I had a double mastectomy when I was diagnosed with stage 1 bc. My breast surgeon really thought the chance was low for a mutation since there is no bc in my family. I was devastated when I found out that I was brca2. After chemo, I had my ovaries removed and thankfully, they were clean. I'm over three years out and feel physically healthy and back to my old self running and exercising and feeling optimistic. I know its overwhelming but the best thing now is you have the knowledge so you can be proactive about your future health and your daughters.
