Shooting pain in breast 5months after bilateral masectomy

has anyone experience shooting pain in their breast after bilateral masectomy and reconstruction, which was January 2016, 6months ago. Out of the blue I am getting sporadic pain on the side that originally had invasive ductal carcinoma. I was not referred for chemo or radiation. Tamoxifen suggested but I declined for many reasons, one being side effects. Has anyone experienced this? I just had 2 breast exams in past 6 months with nothing remarkable. Could this be nerve endings coming back?? Or should I be concerned? Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Hi Siesta --

Ok let's see if I can help; it sounds like we had similar surgeries, since I had BMX and reconstruction with no other treatment; however my cancer was not invasive. So, since we don't technically have "breasts" anymore, where exactly is your pain? Do you have implants, and if so what kind (and if implants are they under the muscle)? Is the pain at a point where your muscle attaches to your ribs? You can look at a diagram on google of the pectoral muscles and see where they attach. I sometimes get pain at those points. Is it possible you did a bit more activity than usual, and strained your pectoral muscles?

Remember, we don't have breasts, we have muscles with implants under them pushing on them, and those muscles can get strained. Let me know the answers to those questions before we panic (I'm good at panicking with the first sign of something new, so I'll try to keep you from panicking )
