Lump on mastectomy side

Hi,

A few days ago I felt a small lump near where my old tumor was at.  I found an even smaller lump a little away from it.  My implant is under the muscle so the lump is on top of the implant.  Just looking for advice to calm myself down.  I know it can be many things other than cancer, however, the mind goes there.

I was diagnosed last year with Stage 2 mucinous carcinoma.  I had the mastectomy, no radiation or chemo, and have been on Tamoxifen since October.  My surgeon can't get me in until 2 more weeks.  The hardest part in all of this has always been the waiting.

Thanks!

Ack! Sorry you are dealing with this. That is a long time to wait. Call MO or PCP. Any of them can order an ultrasound or MRI.

I went in to have both the ultrasound and mammo today. The doctor reading the images said that only 1 lump showed up on the ultrasound. It was the one that felt like a bb pellet. I was more concerned about that one. He said normally they wouldn't be concerned, but due to my history they need to take the next step and biopsy it. He looked at my old images and this new lump looks very similar to how the previous one appeared.

Now I have to wait for my breast surgeon to order a biopsy, get that approved, then get the biopsy and wait. At least I know the process and what to expect.

As they say, pray and hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Mentally I was ready for either good news or possible not so good news. I think my body has been in fight mode since a couple of years back that I didn't cry. I don't always feel many emotions, I just think and try to get through the next day.
