I just finished my 2nd round of AC chemo and my hair is really starting to come out. I'm not dealing very well with this. I cry all the time. Anyone else? Any thoughts/suggestions

One year from now you will have a big old mop of curly hair! Six months from now you will have a stunning pixie!

Now - it stinks. Sorry you are upset about it.

I got a really cute wig that looked better than my real hair. Nobody except DH & DS saw me without it. I also always wore makeup, dressed nice, took as good care of myself as I could. Check with the American Cancer Society and go to one of their "Look Good, Feel Better" sessions. They show you how to wear wigs, scarves, turbans etc. to your best advantage and give you makeup tips and real high quality makeup free. Also, keep busy; try to maintain as normal a schedule as possible so you don't have so much time to think about things. Go out for coffee with friends (even when you don't feel like it and have to drink 7up), get some exercise (it will actually make you feel better) etc. etc. Try to keep a sense of humor (very hard to do.....I looked like as escaped criminal with the bald head!). It will pass; you will probably find a darling new hairdo (and possibly color) that you would have never dared try before (I did), but I know how hard it is now. Hang in there!

I also lost 65% at least of my hair. You know I had already purchased a wig in case I needed it. The wig is not human hair. It is a bob and all my family tell me that it is wonderful. The wigs these days are light weight low maintenance and fun to wear.

while I have not enjoyed the loss of most of my hair, it has only been a footnote in my journey. get thee to a cool wig shop.. I call mine a "hair accessory" . Carolyn from Nashville

Thank you so much for your advice. I do have an appointment on Saturday to get my hair shaved and get a wig. The big picture is to get healthy so I need to focus on that. I will look for the "Look good, feel better " sessions too

I had my head shaved today it was definitely time. It wasn't as bad as I had expected. I got a wig so I'll just have to get used to wearing it. Thanks for your positivity! I needed it:

I feel your sadness. I was sure I was prepared. I had a major meltdown when it started. I was in the bathroom alone middle of the night and cried my heart out.my granddaughter was quite upset the next day when my son shaved my head. She kept sobbing and asking why. It's tough. I must admit I like the shape of my head and am now enjoying my baldness this summer.
