Recurrence During Treatment?

Options

I was diagnosed in April 2015 with IDC, Stage 1c, no nodes, ER+, PR+, HER-2+. Finished chemo in November and radiation in January. Three months into Tamoxifen and approaching the end of my year on Herceptin.

This week, I had my first post-diagnosis mammogram. Shocked and horrified because they found a new, small cluster of 3 microcalcifications--which is what they initially found that led me to my initial diagnosis. I have a biopsy tomorrow but won't have results til next week. I've read everything I can about microcalcifications. Mostly, I want to know if anyone else had new ones pop up during or shortly post-treatment? If so, were they benign? I'm freaking out a bit. If my cancer recurred in spite of throwing everything at it....how good can my outlook really be?

Just following up with the results: benign! I guess this means that micro-calcification clusters CAN be an indicator of IDC but are not ALWAYS an indicator.

Having gone through the IDC diagnosis and treatment once--and still being on Herceptin and Tamoxifen--there is part of me that is beyond anxious that the biopsy just missed the bad cells and there is something still lurking there. I have a routine appointment with my MO this Thursday and hope she can quell those fears. :)

    Thank you for the support!
