taxol every 3weeks anyone?!

so long story short.i am 30 years old with 2kids.I finishe my4 doss of cyclophosphamid andI am starting my taxol...it was supposed to be weekly but the dr. Told me it will be collected every 3weeks !!! Instead of going inweekly... browsing the net made it sound awful and not beneficial.....any one outthere did that protocol and succeeded? Please.HElp

Taxol is basically the same as Taxotere. I was every 3 weeks on it while everyone else I knew was every 2 weeks. No worries as far as effectiveness. I had almost no issues on Taxotere while many of the weekly Taxol folks had issues. So as far as effectiviness I'd say no worries, another week to recover. If you are still concerned, get another MOs opinion.

Taxol is from the same taxanes drug family but it is not the same as taxotere. Both should be equally effective but the doses and side effects may be different. I recommend you ask your MO why s(he) changed you to taxotere. I picked taxol over taxotere for fear of additional side effects and lower dose with weekly infusions.

I'm going every other week - and I'm getting a larger dose.

I had weekly taxols and my dose had to be reduced very quickly because my liver enzymes went up on taxol. I started at 80, got it reduced to 70 from #3 or #4. That's probably half of what they are giving with bi-weekly regimen at each infusion.
