We are all holding on. It is very hard on my DD. She is scared of the what ifs and when. Strange, isn't that the way we feel. I do feel really sorry for her though. She was upset and said, poor little fellow keeps getting squeezed to death. I said, tell him it's just big bear hugs. She said today, that she was feeling some better so that's promising. Thank you all for all the prayers. God listens when we pray in numbers.I told her I had people around the world praying for us. Thank you.

Oh, Kandy, your poor DD. Even thirty-five years ago, I remember the fear and sadness, and the out-of-control sensation with preterm labor, like my body was betraying me. And yes, now that I can compare, it's a lot like BC...one day at a time... This is a praise song that has meant a lot to me over the past few years.

    Your Love Never Fails
"The wind is strong and the water's deep
I'm not alone here in these open seas
    Cause your love never fails
The chasm is far too wide
I never thought I'd reach the other side
    But your love never fails
    And when the oceans rage
I don't have to be afraid
Because I know that you love me
    Your love never fails"

Kandy, I am glad that your daughter is feeling a bit better. I wish there was more we could do, but our prayers will continue. Your daughter and grandson are in good hands. Who is taking care of you? I know this is a stressful situation for all of you. Please make sure you get plenty of rest and eat when you should. Your health and well-being are important to everyone, including your daughter and that little man.

As time is going by, I think everyone's anxiety is decreasing. Everything is staying the same, so at least she is not progressing. Her Dr is very optimistic that she won't deliver yet. Thank you all for keeping us uplifted in prayer. I will keep you updated if anything changes. Wishing you all the best.

    Kandy

My niece was born at 23 weeks. I was with my sister at the delivery and remember how insanelyscary it all was. My sister couldn't look at her baby for the first day.

My niece is now a gorgeous 22 year old (like Jane!!!) and on June 11 I will see her graduate from college. If a 23 week premie did that well then, just think what they can do now. Every hour little man stays put helps. Sounds like he has been doing a great job!

She was in NICU until term and the team at UAB were amazing. My thoughts are with you!

My heart goes out to you and your family. I am sending healing thoughts and pray that this precious baby will able to thrive and grow to be a healthy and beautiful child. After being diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer one week ago, suddenly my priorities have become so very clear. Family is the most important thing.

It is week 27. She is approaching third trimester. So although I do hope she carries him awhile longer, it doesn't make me near as nervous once she is in the third trimester. I am so thankful that all of you joined together with me to pray for my little man. Best wishes to all of you.

Kandy, that is good news. Is your daughter feeling less nervous, too? My son was a premie at 33 weeks. He weighed 4 lbs. and was in a neonatal unit for one month in an incubator. We visited every day and held him while we were there. He had few issues, just mostly had to gain weight. Since at that stage a baby hasn't yet developed the coordination to breathe, suck and swallow at the same time, he was fed by a tiny tube down his nose into his belly for about a week and then he was able take a bottle. He was released when he was 5 lbs. Had no residual effects from being a premie. He graduated manga cum laude from college last year, happy and healthy.

My daughter is doing well. They moved her due date up a week, so today she is at 30 weeks. They told her they would take her off of procardia in 4 more weeks. Goodness, that doesn't seem far at all. So excited. Thanks for all the continued prayers. Blessings to all.
