Nurse Practitioner out of Network Charge

Options

I have BCBS PPO and my oncologist is in network along with the hospital and everyone else involved. I had to go to a Chemo Teach session which was given by the Nurse Practitioner. I have also had one office visit/lab with the Nurse as well. I got a bill saying the Nurse was Out of Network and now I have to pay for both appointments. I called the office and everything is handled by the hospital's billing. When I called them, the girl obviously knew nothing about chemo appointments, etc. Shouldn't this have been billed a different way?

My husband had cancer a couple of years ago and dealt with a different office and hospital. He saw the Nurse PT every other visit. We never had a problem. Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem?

I have Anthem BCBS and this happened to me about five years ago. Everyone in my gyn office was in network but oneNP. The Drs office contacted Anthem and had her added to their in-network provider list.
