Lump too hard for needle biopsy

Hi, just got a lumpectomy on May 11th, and I am waiting for the results. They found a lump and have a doubt it might be a phylloid type. before surgery I went to the ultra sound room because they wanted to put a mark on the lump, but it was so hard that the needle bend. At the end they stopped because the needle could notgo through the lump. Anyone with a similar experience? Please help with more information. Thanks. The waiting is awful.

I have an hashimoto with hurtle cells nodules, so doctors want to take the thyroid out

Have an ulcerative colitis and ankylosing spondylitis. I am treated with Simponi anti TNF blocker

Sounds more like a bone island! I, too, have had my thyroid out. I'm interested to see what comes out of all this, but of course we have no idea. Please keep us posted, and good luck to you. What is the next step?

The next step is getting the results on Tuesday 23rd. Then I don't know. the surgeon said I might go through another surgery depending on the results. Thanks again for asking.

I have 3 children, the oldest is a girl 12, and twins boy and a girl 9. Don't have s family in Switzerland and my husband never asked about my results. I have been tha lot since I was a child, and I already have too many health issues. Even my doctors cannot bear another bad news.

aww sunflower i also have a girl 12yrs old and twin boys that just turned 10! Our hands are certainly full even when healthy! Best wishes to u!

I've already been diagnosed with IDC, but a recent breast MRI keeps showing more stuff that has to be biopsied. I have really been thru the wringer with all this testing and waiting and I still haven't had any treatment yet or even a firm surgery date set.

Hi, I had an issue with getting a needle in a lump for biopsy, they thought it was the machine. It wasnt, another doctor tried and was able to complete the biopsy... so maybe it could have been doctor error in your situation? Sorry that you had to go thru the lumpectomy, hopefully the results will be benign.

I should add that I've had probably a dozen biopsies in my life all told. Includes breast, thyroid and abdomen, neck lymph nodes, etc and never had anyone have a problem getting into the lump. I'm mystified by all this.

I'm also wondering, sunflower, you said you have 3 kids and then spoke of 4. Do you count the twin boys as one...?

it was really the nodule. It was a biopsy with ultrasound, the needle bent.

I had in February a mammography and a biopsy but the result did not come clear. Then, the doctor ordered a mammotom, but the specialist did notwant to perform. Then they decided to take itout with a lumpectomy. Since the surgeon hardly felt the lump which was 1.5cm, he wanted a marker on the lump, but the needle kept bouncing back , it was bent like an arc.

as a single mom, it must be very hard. I have a husband and trust meit's worst than being a single mom. I always tell myself that being sick is a luxury that I cannot afford.
